Updates Brief Policy

Product bundles need manufacturer packaging from 11 Jan 2027 — seller-built kits at risk

Who it hits

Anyone listing multi-item kits under one ASIN — snack boxes, first-aid kits, accessory packs, prep-center bundles. Especially catalogs that assemble kits themselves.

What to do this week

Export every bundled ASIN this week. Mark manufacturer-packed vs seller-built. Secure LOAs, move brand-owned kits to Virtual Bundles, or plan to pause ads before 11 Jan 2027 on anything that will fail.

What still works

Path Rule of thumb
Manufacturer / brand-packed kit Buy and list the configuration as shipped by the brand. Still the cleanest path.
Letter of authorization (LOA) Repackaged / reconfigured bundles if the brand(s) authorize you to repackage for Amazon. Upload LOA via Account Health if flagged after 11 Jan.
Virtual Bundles tool Brand owners and authorized resellers: virtual combos are not physically packed together, so manufacturer packaging does not apply the same way.
Exempt browse / types Gifting browse nodes and camera product types are called out as exempt from the manufacturer-pack rule. Confirm live.

Why this is an ads problem

A deactivated bundle ASIN still sits in Sponsored Products until someone pauses it. You pay for clicks onto an offer that cannot convert. Treat bundle compliance like insurance or Account Health — same checklist as Q4 ranking budgets.

This week

  1. List every advertised ASIN that is a multi-item kit. Note who packed it.
  2. Seller-built kits: start LOA requests now, or move eligible brand kits to Virtual Bundles, or schedule a hard stop on ads before 11 Jan.
  3. Do not scale discovery on kits you cannot prove are manufacturer-packed or authorized.
  4. Put 11 Jan 2027 on the same calendar as peak fee windows — two clocks, one catalog.

FAQ

Can I sell through existing inventory after 11 Jan?

Amazon’s notice says you can continue selling inventory that is already listed before the date — but noncompliant listings can still be deactivated after 11 Jan. Do not plan ads on hope. Confirm the live wording.

Is a prep-center kit “manufacturer packed”?

Usually no. If your prep center assembled the kit and it is not the brand’s original configuration (and you have no LOA), treat it as at risk.

Virtual Bundles vs one ASIN kit?

Virtual Bundles keep components as separate ASINs sold together in the tool. Physical single-ASIN kits are what this packaging rule targets. Use the right tool for the right catalog.
